Mendocino Figure Drawing Collective (MFDC) 7th Biennial Exhibit
The Mendocino Art Center presents a show of accomplished and sensual drawings and sculptures by the Mendocino Figure Drawing Collective. The MFDC 7th Biennial Exhibit officially opened, Thursday, March 4th, and runs through Saturday, April 4th.
The Nude has been a fundamental subject of Western Art for thousands of years, serving purposes as diverse as myth, religion, fantasy, political allegory, pure aesthetics, titillation and science. Mendocino Figure Drawing Collective is a loose-knit group of local and visitor artists, meeting weekly at the Art Center for 20 years, and generating thousands of studies of the human body.
MFDC weekly figure drawing sessions are open to the public. Artists interested in drawing from live models can attend any Wednesday from 1:30 to 4:30 (slightly early arrival recommended, sometimes the studio fills up). Fees are $7 for drop-in, or $24 for a month.
The Mendocino Art Center is located at 45200 Little Lake Street in Mendocino. For information phone (707) 937-5818.
