statement

Who didn't have parents trying to put up a first line of defense of their valuable time by giving pencils and paper to small children? Mine were no exception, so I can honestly say I have been drawing since before I could walk. My parents were both engaged in the arts in different ways, on different levels, and so art was as much a part of my frame of reference as the meandering, tree-filled streets of Carmel, California where I was born. Early on, I felt some expectations that I would also be engaged in art, and, luckily, I love to acquiesce in this activity! It is now many years later, and I still love putting pencil to paper, and brush to whatever surface I can find, so here I am.
