MENDOCINO FIGURE DRAWING COLLECTIVE (MFDC)
Due to Covid-19, we are not able to meet on-site. Please stay tuned for plans to resume when it becomes safe to do so.
For millennia, the human body has been revered in Western Art for its exquisite architecture and complex sensuality. The Collective originated at the Mendocino Art Center, and its workshops are a fundamental year-round component of the Art Center’s traditional studies program.
MFDC is a loose-knit association of local and visiting artists and models, meeting weekly for the past 25 years. Our sessions are strictly on a drop-in basis, uninstructed, solely for the purpose of serious study. The group has served hundreds of artists and generated thousands of figure studies. These drawings affirm the expressive capacity of the human form, and the beauty, elegance and raw power of drawing.
This website introduces just a few of the artists who make up the collective. If you have general questions about MFDC, please use the CONTACT page. For specific information about individual artists (including sales and contact), please see the ABOUT THE ARTIST tab within their page in the ARTIST GALLERY.
